Napping is Delicious

So, I have not taken my adderall this weekend, because the nice doctor told me that its good to sometimes take a meds vacation. As a result, I have slept waaaaay more than usual and haven't gotten anything done. I've just been pinging all over the place.

I went to church this morning with my Abby, and then ate lunch with her. I then came home fully intending to get some homework done, right away. Ha! I sat on my bed with my computer, and decided I was cold. After snuggling up under my blankie, my head really needed some support so I utilized my pillow. At 5 pm, I woke up with my computer under my arm. Oops. So much for all that chemistry I was going to get done.

Also, Roomate Michael and I got AirHogs RC helicopters at walmart (Happy Birthday to me!!), affectionately dubbed battle-copters. They are so cool! Yet another distraction. We can crash them into things and they still work afterwards!

My head was a mess today. I remember making fun of mom and other relatives for taking afternoon naps. Now, I think I might devote my life in an effort to make naptime a real working world occurance. Sigh.

PING! PING!

blech

Anyways,

Its weird. I am gradu-mutating in May, and there is this gigantic blank space afterwards that I don't know what to do with... What do I want to do? Oh so many things... The responsible thing would be to get a job... ha.

Its strange making my own decisions...

I know that most of you have gone through this (Tessa and Alli, you'll be there soon..) - the realization of "Holy Crap! What am I going to do?" hits hard. But all of you seem to have made it and are happy.

One of the things I have been learning recently is that in making a decision, it doesn't matter too much what the I think negative things will be. My plans rarely come to fruition, they are always mutated and twisted into something I had never thought would happen. So, the important thing is to make the decision and then deal with it from there. I always hear about two paths in life.. the good one and the bad one... but really I think life is more like a braided river. Each decision is a separate stream that could lead anywhere, and winds and combines with other decision-streams.

For the time being, My thoughts feel like they have been tossed in Ang's Kitchen-Aid Mixer. It gets dizzy in here!

When did I become an Adult?

Sigh.... It hits me at strange times... like when I am trying to clean-up-my-house-and-turn-down-the-heater-so-we-
dont-have-to-pay-for-it-and-make-sure-all-the-doors-
are-locked-and-get-the-house-keys-to-Mike-so-he-
can-water-the-plants-while-everyone-else-is-sitting-
around-looking-at-me-like-im-crazy-while-im-preparing
-to-be-gone-for-two-weeks. When they said "Finally!" when I was ok with leaving my house all by its lonesome for two weeks, I realized how many times I had sat around while my mother ran around frantically... I'm sorry mom.

Ok, I will continue this post after I help my nine-year old cousin Julie find a shirt that is not tie die and 5 times too big.

Winter Solutions

This week, it has snowed so much that my jeep has a snow hat about a foot deep. Its cold. My poor Californian body can't take it! So, I wear an incredible number of layers. The only thing I can't manage to keep warm is my nose, so I did some research on nose warmers. If you are interested, here are your options:

Ski Mask: Also convenient if you plan on robbing someone.

Scarf: Super itchy, potential to get the ends wrapped up or caught somewhere

My favorite so far: the nose sweater. They come in several styles:

Sporty Nose Warmer. If interested,
go to comfynose.com.

The hand knit nose sweater. Complete with pom-pom. Several websites sell these, in custom colors with or without pom-pom. Poor bear.

Sigh... I think I will just go with the cold nose, thanks. Why can't they make an invisible nose warmer?

GRE Charades

So, new game. GRE vocab Charades!

It is quite an esoteric, challenging game... you try acting out "ephemeral".

Example: Michael is acting it out, Diana and I are guessing.

1 finger for first part of word-

Michael pretends to hack, leaning towards the trashcan, just in case- also pretends to sneeze

"
Uhhh.... sick?"

nodding, he indicates the second word and blows up his cheeks and holds out his arms as if they were around a large belly

"
You feel bloated? Need to stop eating so much? (he rolls his eyes and points to me, repeating the belly imitation) I am not fat."

He changes his strategy, and raises his arm like a trunk.

"
Elephant? (nods, then puts hands together) sick elephant?"

indicates that I should add the words together

"S
ickphant? Selephant? sycophant!"

And that's how it goes. Don't vituperate me, its a great way to learn the words. How can I forget sycophant when i remember Michael waving his arms around like an elephant? Maybe one of these days I will become an erudite student.

Only 495 words to go...

Epiphanies and Precipitation

I want to create maps... beautiful, decorative maps with elaborate designs. Why can't I? I'm at a place in my life where I have control of the direction of my future. So, I am directing myself towards mapping. I think it will be fulfilling. Now, if only I could draw.

I went to a yoga class tonight. There were about 60 bodies crammed into the attic of a local church. As I yoged on my orange mat, I was calmed by the rain hitting the roof. It has rained all day today. I love the gray color of the sky and how green everything is against it. The campus was so beautiful. I feel like the rain cleans everything: the streets, the buildings, my car, the whole Earth. It even keeps the plant on my porch alive. Mmmmm rain.
